House Committee To Vote On Who Should Control St. Louis Police Department (FOX 2 News St. Louis)
The push to give the city of St. Louis control over its police department is gaining momentum in Jefferson City. A special House Committee on Urban Issues is meeting Monday night to vote on House Bill 1601. The bill, sponsored by representative Jamilah Nasheed would return control of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department to the city. Currently, the state of Missouri runs the department.
